When you label the way that you eat you are doing so for the purpose of somebody else.
You know how you eat. You know what foods feel good and what foods don’t. You know what your body can tolerate and what it can’t.
And if you don’t quite know yet you eventually will.
Let go of the need to label yourself as gluten free, sugar free, paleo etc. You already know how you eat. You are not “sugar free”, the food is. You are not “gluten free”, the food is. You don’t need to fit perfectly inside a box that can be ticked.
Keep labels for food.
Eat intuitively for you. Eat in a way that feels good for you. Eat in a way that serves you.

Instead of saying “I’m sugar free”, try “In this moment I’m choosing to eat sugar free FOOD because…”.
Instead of saying “I’m gluten free”, try “In this moment I am choosing to eat foods that are free from gluten because…”.
Instead of saying “I’m paleo”, try “In this moment I am choosing foods that fit within the paleo lifestyle because…”.
Instead of saying “I’m vegetarian”, try “In this moment I am choosing vegetarian foods because…”.
See how freeing those words are?!
Does it change the way you eat? Not if you don’t want it to.
It simply helps you to reframe the way you think about food and removes the need to be perfect.
Our mind is incredibly powerful and it hears whatever we tell it to hear.
Tell your mind that it’s okay to eat however YOU choose. You don’t have to fit perfectly into a little square box. You don’t have to eat the same way forever and ever and ever.
It’s okay to change, to evolve, to try new things, to grow.
