It’s almost Christmas and I can almost guarantee a few of us will be the grateful recipients of a little cash.  I know giving or receiving cash (or vouchers) at Christmas might be a tiny bit taboo, but I totally think it’s clever and acceptable (provided it’s used awesomely).  I know for those of us with family overseas it is one of the most sensible gift options (because it costs about a gazillion dollars to post anything heavier than a feather), plus it definitely eliminates the need for re-gifting 😉

But what do you do with the cash when you receive it?  It’s kind of the most important part of the whole equation.  Make sure the gift-giver knows how appreciative you are by treating yourself, and these 10 awesome ways to spend your Christmas money definitely have your options covered!

What better time to grab a good read than over the Christmas break.  From fiction to cookbooks to health to makeup, there is something for everyone.

Because, shopping!  If you can brave the sales then head in store and grab yourself a new outfit.  If your a little cautious of the madness that is SALES then jump into your PJs and shop online.

Because, indulgent!  Christmas is the perfect time to recharge and relax.  Grab a massage or facial or a treatment you wouldn’t usually book.  Treat yourself!

It’s Summer so why not grab yourself a new bikini.  I love the selection online at The Iconic (see the range here) with options to suit almost any body type, shape and size.  These are definitely a few of my favourites. I especially love the back of the second bikini.  It looks super supportive but also super cool.

The gift that keeps on giving!  Subscribe to your favourite magazine or subscription box and receive ALL YEAR ROUND.  I love my Harper’s Bazaar subscription, it’s like Christmas every month for the whole year (plus you usually get it before it hits the shelves).

I am obsessed with Nike right now so I would definitely have these shoes on the top of my Christmas cash list! (shop Nike here).

Head out for dinner with your favourite people or stop in at a Gold Class movie.  Or use the money to buy tickets to a show or service you wouldn’t usually spend money on but would love to go to!

I love heading to places like Mac, Napoleon and the Body Shop for a makeover because not only do you get a beautiful face of makeup, but you also get to spend that money on new makeup products.

It’s the time for giving, for appreciation and for gratitude.  If you can’t think of something to buy that you will love, value and appreciate then donate to someone who can.  Reach out locally or contact an organisation that can help you find those in need.  No matter how small, a donation at Christmas is ALWAYS appreciated.

Okay, so this one isn’t instantly awesome.  But imagine how awesome saving or investing your cash will be when you reach your goal.  Pop it into a high-interest savings account and use it for something TOTALLY AWESOME.

BONUS: A ‘not-your-average-detox’ program!

I’ve put together a plan. A HOW-TO.  A plan using the most nourishing foods possible. Nourishing foods that are known to leave you feeling lighter, bouncier and just plain happy. It’s really just an added bonus that you’ll lose the bloat and give your body a chance to unwind from stress.

Now I’m not a miracle worker so I’m not going to promise you that you’ll lose 5kg in 5 days (and if anyone promises you that, RUN FOR THE HILLS!). What I will say is that this 5 day not-so-ordinary detox will not only give your body a chance to relax and recover, but it will also set you up with the tools and mindset you need to transform your eating and feel happy, healthy and nourished in your dream body WITHOUT dieting.

We’re starting in the New Year so get your name on the list today.  You don’t want to miss this one!

Oh, and you definitely don’t want to miss that special FREE gift you get when you pre-register!

P.P.S: Don’t forget to take a photo to share how your spending your Christmas cash and send it to the gift-giver as a way to show your appreciation and gratitude 🙂
