How to make zoats 1

I’ve had a few questions about how I make my zoats (zucchini oats), including what equipment I use, what they should look like before and after cooking, and when to add different ingredients.  All things that are tricky to explain.  I thought what better way to share with you the exact details of how to make zoats like mine than with a quick video!

I’ve taken you from start to Instagram-worthy finish with this video so you can see just how simple it is to make a pretty and healthy breakfast each day.  Healthy eating really does not need to be complicated or hard, and doesn’t need to take a lot of time.  This recipe takes me about 5-7 minutes in total, during which time I have also prepared my son’s breakfast and my all-important coffee.

This how to make zoats video shares with you my most basic zoats recipe, and then the superfoods you can choose to add if you want to.  The recipe is dairy free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.   However, if you prefer a dairy-based protein or dairy milk then you can substitute.

  1. I LOVED the video (sorry for shouting) so much pretty and so much yum. I think I’m totally going to have to give these a whirl. You make it look so easy and always so delicious. I might even try in my Thermomix! I don’t have all the fancy powders but I’m guessing it will taste just as good, just oats so simple right?! PS More videos please!

    1. Oh thank you so much Sammie, that is so lovely to hear! Yes don’t worry about the extras…once you’ve made the basic recipe you can add whatever you want to it. Can’t wait to film more 🙂

  2. I LOVE this – the video is awesome!!! I’ve had some ideas for videos for ages but haven’t been able to bring myself to actually do one! So now you’ve inspired me!

I also have to admit I didn’t know what Zoats were…and now I do! thank you x

  3. Love this! You are just so amazing at making such great, power packed and yummy foods- I’m in awe! I am going to give this a whirl this weekend!!! We usually just have a big ol’ smoothie each morning, with our chick pea protein but this looks waaaaaaay better. And awesome vid!! xx

    1. Oh I haven’t tried chick pea protein, what is it like? I’m loving the garden of life vegan protein, I can’t remember what it’s made of though (not chick peas). Smoothies are the best though aren’t they! xx

  4. I just made some of these for breakfast this morning! SO yum, Krissy! I used quick oats, unsweetened almond milk, vanilla essence and stevia along with the grated zuchinni. Then I mixed through some stevia-sweetened dark chocolate chips right at the end…just because! Thanks so much for the recipe! xx

    1. Oh I am so pleased you tried (and liked) them! They are definitely my go-to breakfast and I feel like they are such a healthy start to the day too as already you have a serve of veggies! Definitely have to try your chocolate chip tip! YUM
