Rich chocolate pudding 1

A rich chocolate pudding.

A HEALTHY rich chocolate pudding.

I’m just not sure there is much more to say!

I just had to share this chocolate pudding with my fellow sweet-toothed lovelies because it will blow your mind.

And there isn’t an avocado in sight.

Most of us would have seen, and perhaps even tried, the chocolate avocado pudding recipes that are floating around the internet.  Yes they are great.  Healthy even.  Unfortunately I’m not so convinced on the taste.  Yes, they are moorish and rich and creamy.  But they still kind of taste like avocado.  And I just can’t quite get over that.

This rich chocolate pudding isn’t totally free from sugar.  BUT it is totally free from REFINED SUGAR.

Hello natural sugar and fibre from whole fruit.

It’s important to remember that even clean treats have their limits.  Most clean treats contain high amounts of (healthy) fat, (healthy) sugar and (healthy) oils.  Meaning most clean treats are still going to be high energy foods.

My thoughts on healthy clean treats like this rich chocolate pudding?  Simple.  They are better than the alternative (unhealthy) dessert.  But they shouldn’t replace healthier foods like vegetables, fruits and legumes.

For me, sweet treats make up less than 20 percent of my total food intake.  For me, they still weigh in as an indulgent treat.

  1. Oh I am so with you on the avocado chocolate pudding – it still tastes like avocado. And really I don’t need to see another recipe telling me there’s a ‘secret’ ingredient. The secret is OUT!! Oh dear – sorry about the rant 🙂 I’m with you – it’s all about balance when it comes to sugar/refined sugar.

  2. This looks fab. I have everything to hand as well, in fact I have some frozen bananas too which might be a good adaptation.

Happy to meet you via the Rabbit Hole. As a Scottish-born person, I love your blog name.
